Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the perukirja.io service ('Service'), you agree to these Terms of Service ('Terms'). These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Regulus Holding Oy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Service Description & Disclaimers

perukirja.io is a guided form tool and preparation service for estate inventory (perunkirjoitus) in Finland:

• NOT A LAW FIRM: We do not provide legal or tax representation.
• No Legal Advice: The service and AI assistant provide guidance, not advice.
• Trustees Required: Finnish law requires two Trustees (uskotut miehet) to verify the final document.

The Service is an assistance tool; you remain responsible for the accuracy of all submitted data.

3. Eligibility

You represent that:

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You have the authority to manage the estate data you submit.
• Information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.

4. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining confidentiality of your credentials
• Activities occurring under your account
• Notifying us immediately of suspected unauthorized access

We may suspend access to protect security or prevent abuse.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to bypass security controls
• Interfere with platform operations
• Use automated means to abuse AI features

We may restrict or terminate accounts for violations.

6. AI Assistant Disclaimer

• It does not constitute legal or professional advice.
• You are responsible for validating legally significant outcomes.
• For complex or disputed matters, consult a qualified professional.

7. User Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having authority to submit the data and for its legality and accuracy. Settings includes self-service Export your data and Delete account controls. Export your data downloads a JSON copy of account and case records held in the application; Delete account starts the account-deletion process. Download anything you need before deletion: once you confirm the emailed deletion link, the active account and estate data cannot be restored through the Service. Statutory accounting records, temporary provider restore history, and service-provider records may remain as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Fees, Billing, and Refunds

Commercial terms:

• Pricing is shown at the time of purchase.
• Payment unlocks download access for 90 days from the time of payment. Access can be renewed; renewal extends validity by 90 days from the current expiry date or the renewal date, whichever is later. Your entered data is retained after access expires.
• Available payment methods: online banks, Visa, Mastercard, and MobilePay.
• 100 % Satisfaction Guarantee: If you are not satisfied with the Service for any reason, you may request a full refund within 90 days of the payment date — no questions asked.
• EU Right of Withdrawal: You also have a 14-day statutory right of withdrawal under EU consumer law.
• Refunds are always returned to the original payment method.

All fees are processed through secure payment partners. To request a refund under the satisfaction guarantee, contact tuki@perukirja.io within 90 days of the payment date. The service is digital and access is granted immediately after the payment is confirmed.

Payment Service Provider

Paytrail Plc acts as a collecting payment service provider and is an authorized payment institution. Paytrail Plc will be shown as the recipient on your bank or credit card statement. Paytrail Plc will forward the payment to the merchant. For complaints, please contact us first at tuki@perukirja.io.

9. Availability and Changes

We may update or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may perform maintenance.

10. Intellectual Property

All software, branding, and content (except your private data) are owned by Regulus Holding Oy or its licensors.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service or request deletion through the self-service Delete account control in Settings at any time. Account deletion requires confirmation through a link sent to your account email. We may suspend or terminate access if:

• You breach these Terms
• Security, fraud-prevention, or legal reasons require action
• The Service is discontinued

Confirmed account deletion is irreversible for active account and estate data. Termination or deletion does not affect obligations accrued before termination, payment and refund administration, or records we must retain by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided 'as is' and 'as available', without warranties of any kind.
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including, for example, loss of income, savings, or data, tax or regulatory penalties, business interruption, or errors in any perukirja or other document).
• Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims combined — regardless of the basis of the claim (contract, tort, statute, or any other ground) and including any direct damages — is in all cases limited to the amount you have actually paid for the Service.

Liability is not limited for gross negligence or willful misconduct where mandatory law prohibits such limitation.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Regulus Holding Oy against claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service or breach of these Terms. This does not limit your rights under mandatory consumer law.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland. As a consumer you may always bring a dispute before the district court of your home municipality, or refer it to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi); before doing so, we recommend contacting the Finnish consumer advisory service (kkv.fi). Other disputes are handled in the Helsinki District Court.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a clear notice in the Service a reasonable time before they take effect. Changes do not apply retroactively to access you purchased before they take effect. By continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect you accept the revised Terms; if you do not accept the changes, you may stop using the Service.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision is severed and all remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision will be replaced by a valid provision that most closely reflects the intent of the original, to the extent permitted by law. This applies in particular to the limitation of liability above: if any part of it is held invalid, the limitation otherwise remains in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
